Childrens Scrapstore

Childrens ScrapstoreChildren’s Scrapstore (the charity) collects safe waste from business and industry which can be re-used as a creative resource. The ‘scrap’ is made available to members groups at low cost. Membership is open to groups working in creative play, care, educational and therapeutic settings.
Artrageous art and crafts sells competitively priced art and craft goods to the public and Scrapstore members (who receive a 20% discount). The trading company enables Artrageous to covenant net surpluses to the charity if any are produced. Artrageous also runs free art session every other Saturday so people can try out the products on sale.
Children’s Scrapstore also has other services and projects:
·    Scrapstore Roadshows take resources and art training to rural venues in B&NES & North Somerset eight times a year.
·    Open Days happen twice a year when the charity opens its warehouse doors to the public and provides free art sessions for children.
·    A low cost funding advice service for the public and members is run in house by the Funding Officer.
·    A well equipped training room is available for hire in The Proving House.
·    The training room is hired at weekends by workshop providers who run a variety of art and craft workshops for the public. A complementary health clinic also runs from the room every other Saturday.
