The Vassall Centre provides workspace for voluntary organisations that offer services to, and employ, disabled people. It is a single storey building whose floor space covers an acre within its three-acre site, which is being progressively regenerated by a development project to free it of barriers. It makes it possible for disabled people to work on equal terms with all others.
The Vassall Centre is owned and run by the Vassall Centre Trust, a registered charity. Part of its work is to run the David Hiatt Baker Conference Centre located within the complex. The Conference Centre serves the whole community and is designed so that disabled people can lead meetings as well as attend them.
